Depleted Maroons call up debutants for fight to prevent whitewash

The Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons have named their squad for Game III of this year's State of Origin series, with two players set to make their debuts.

With skipper Tamika Upton, strike outside back Julia Robinson and prop Makenzie Weale ruled out after suffering injuries during Game Two of the series, Destiny Mino-Sinapati and Lillian Yarrow have been called up for their Origin debuts.

Mino-Sinapati is set to make her debut at fullback, with Yarrow coming onto the interchange bench.

Cronulla Sharks back Georgia Ravics has also been included in the squad of 20.

Coach Nathan Cross said there was enormous belief within the group heading into the final match of the series.

“We know the strength and quality that exists within this group and while it’s been tough not to come away with the wins so far, the performances have shown exactly what this side is capable of,” Cross said.

“It’s also been really exciting to see some of the younger players and debutants come into the environment and handle the Origin arena so well."
