The Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, is planning to support his beloved Wests Tigers in Las Vegas after the teams and fixtures to kick off the 2027 NRL season at Allegiant Stadium were announced.
Parramatta Eels great Peter Wynn also declared he was intending to make the trip to Las Vegas to watch the club he won three premierships for and is still closely associated with.
“Absolutely I’ll be going,” Field told NRL.com. “I’ll go with my son and we’ll enjoy every second of it. He’s been talking about it ever since it came out that Wests Tigers might be going.

“We watch all of their games at Leichhardt and Campbelltown, and anywhere else they play when we can, so why not Vegas."
Field, who is a diehard Wests Tigers fan and passionate rugby league fan, penned a victory song for the club in 2025 and also wrote a song for The Wiggles about the USA team's string of upset wins at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
“Benji Marshall is doing a great job as coach and I think Adam Doueihi would have been playing State of Origin (for NSW) if he hadn’t been injured," Field said.
“They started the season so well this year but unfortunately the team has got a lot of injuries at the moment. Hopefully they can get off to a good start next year too in Vegas.”
For fans of the clubs playing at Allegiant Stadium, Rugby League Las Vegas 2027 is a bucket list experience to support their team in the sports and entertainment capital of the world, while enjoying the festivities of the week.
Las Vegas rewind - 2026
Allegiant Stadium has been the venue for the opening games of the NRL season since 2024 and each year has become bigger and better, with more than 10,000 fans attending Fan Fest in Las Vegas and the introduction of the Oz Fest trade fair in 2026.
“Las Vegas, here we come. It is something to look forward to next year for sure,” said Wynn, who played 175 first grade matches for Parramatta, as well as six appearances for NSW and three Tests for Australia.
“My brother, Graeme, went with the Dragons this year and he said it was amazing. He said, ‘Pete, don’t miss it’, so it is something to look forward to.”
Wynn, who is nicknamed "Wally", owns Peter Wynn's Score sports store in Parramatta and he said excitement about Rugby League Las Vegas 2026 was already building among Eels fans.

“Ever since the whispers started a few weeks ago that the Eels might be one of the teams playing in Vegas we have had so many people come into the shop who are very excited about going over, so everyone will be looking around for flights and travel packages now.
“People just love it, so it’s going to be huge. Vegas has just sparked an amazing interest in that opening week of the season.
“My brother had a great time. He said it wasn’t just the game but all the events for the fans, like Fremont Street. I can just picture it now with all the blue and gold banners along The Strip in Las Vegas. It’s going to be amazing.”
