As it happened: Clifford leads Cowboys to win against injury-hit Rabbitohs

The curtain came down on the round with Todd Payten's Cowboys putting on a show for the Townsville faithful against the injury hit Rabbitohs.

Games record holder Jason Taumalolo and freaky fullback Scott Drinkwater co-captain the Cowboys in the absence of Tom Dearden (injury) and Reuben Cotter (Origin), showing the way to young guns Liam Sutton and Xavier Kerrisk as North Queensland claimed their eighth win of the season.

The Rabbitohs have now lost three of their past four but unearthed a star of the future in winger Talanoa Penitani after making the long trip north without big-game players Latrell Mitchell, Cameron Murray and Campbell Graham.
