Eels v Raiders: Ryles maintains the faith; Patuki Case to debut

With a relatively short turn-around, the Eels will be hoping to put the disappointment of their close King's Birthday loss behind them when they take on the Raiders.

Despite being under the pump and behind in possession for much of the game in  Monday's loss to the Bulldogs, the Eels were in the fight, but some poor game awareness at the end of the match cost them their opportunity to add to their wins tally.

However, coach Jason Ryles would have bee pleased with the way they committed in their defence, with last-ditch efforts helping keep things close in their 14-12 defeat.

The Raiders also come into this match with a loss, were under the pump early in their game to the Roosters last week, going down in a lopsided affair 26-0.

Their eighth loss of the season so far, Ricky Stuart will be hoping to see more from him players this week after their poor showing against the Roosters.

However, they will have to do it without one of their more influential players, with five-eighth Ethan Strange and leading forward Hudson Young who are both away on Origin duties with the NSW Blues.

Team News

Eels: Coach Jason Ryles sticks solid with his squad after a narrow loss to the Bulldogs on Monday. Hookers Tallyn Da Silva and Harrison Edwards could again be a game day swap as they have been the past two weeks but it's the same 19 who will look to turn around a three-game losing streak. Skipper Mitch Moses is expected to line up for the Blues in Origin Two and will then look to make his return for the Eels in Round 17 against the Rabbitohs when Jonah Pezet (hamstring) may also be a chance to return.

Raiders: Seb Kris (concussion) returns in the centres so Daine Laurie shifts to five-eighth to cover for Ethan Strange (NSW Blues). Winger Savelio Tamale has entered the concussion protocols so Jed Stuart comes in. Ata Mariota will start the game with Hudson Young on Origin duty. Joe Roddy (hand) and Ethan Sanders (glute) are both expected to play after suffering injuries against the Roosters. Young prop Vena Patuki Case has been named to make his NRL debut off the bench.
