National Championships

The Harvey Norman Women’s National Championship is a four-day tournament that takes place in June and allows coaches and clubs to select and finalise their playing rosters ahead of State of Origin and the NRLW Premiership.

The Championship involves six teams who play across two pools;

  • Queensland City
  • Queensland Country
  • New South Wales City
  • New South Wales Country
  • Combined Affiliate States
  • Australian Defence Force

Representative teams are selected through their club and state commitments with 30-minute halves played.

The player of the tournament, judged by Australian Jillaroos coach Brad Donald and selectors, receives the Tahnee Norris medal.

NSW City were crowned National Champions in 2019 following a 34-4 victory over NSW Country in the final.

NSW City representative Tiana Penitani was awarded the inaugural Tahnee Norris medal in 2019.
