Toowoomba-born Cory Paix began his rugby league journey with the Southern Suburbs Tigers and was spotted by Broncos scouts as a talented 13-year-old at a country carnival.
He progressed through the Broncos Academy and Under 20s system before earning his NRL debut in 2020 against the Roosters.
Paix has gone on to play more than 65 games for the Club, but his path hasn't been without setbacks.
After failing to feature in the NRL side in 2024, he responded with a standout Queensland Cup season, being named Hostplus Cup Hooker of the Year across 20 strong performances.
His resilience paid off in 2025 when he re-established himself in the Broncos’ top-grade side, missing only a handful of games while producing three tries, three try assists and 708 tackles at almost 98 per cent efficiency.
Paix signed a contract extension later that year, saying he still has “plenty to give” both as a player and as a person.
