Hailing from the Lower Hutt suburb of Wainuiomata, Tauaneai has turned many a head since making the move across the ditch earlier this year to pursue rugby league.
A dynamic middle forward, the 18-year-old received Player of the Tournament honours in both the Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup and Harvey Norman Women’s National Championships this past season.
She was rewarded with selection in NSW’s under-19s State of Origin squad but has instead opted to declare her allegiance to New Zealand.
