Game-Day Anxiety
Anxiety can really affect your preparation.
Game-day anxiety affects people in different ways, however the most common symptoms can involve:
- pounding or racing heartbeat
- shortness of breath
- sweating
- dry mouth or throat
- diarrhoea
- muscle aches and pains in the neck or shoulders
- an excessive fear or worry
- distress in social situations
- racing mind or blank mind
- unable to concentrate
All of these things can be passed off as ‘nerves’. Being anxious is a really common feeling when preparing for something important, especially for players preparing for big matches.
