The 2014 NRL Club Membership Race has entered its last week with eight clubs still in the running to secure prize money for signing up new members.

In the first race, based on total memberships, the Broncos are runaway leaders but the Rabbitohs, Roosters and Wests Tigers are still vying for second and third place.

There are currently only 176 memberships separating the Rabbitohs and the Roosters – with the Wests Tigers just 277 members further back.

Race Two will reward the top three clubs with the greatest percentage increase in memberships since the race began in February.

The Panthers are clear leaders from the Warriors who should take out second place.

Third place is still open to four clubs with only 4% separating the Sharks (33%), Wests Tigers (32%), Sea Eagles (30%) and the Roosters (29%).

“This year we have seen clubs add up to 500 members per week, so anything could happen,” NRL Head of Marketing Lewis Pullen said.

“The clubs continue to offer a number of very good membership packs for fans and will continue to do so.

“With one week to go (race finishes on 20 May) the current table could change very quickly,” Lewis said.

As the Membership Race enters its final days the current standings are:
