Kieran Foran's first foray as an Eel got off to a shaky start when the Brisbane Broncos ruined Pirtek Stadium's NRL Telstra Premiership season-opening party. Viewed as the best recruiters over the off-season, the Sea Eagles certainly played like they just met each other against the Bulldogs. Raiders lock Shaun Fensom ensured his side's first win of the year with a hop and a skip against the Panthers. South Sydney buried the Roosters, the writing was on the wall early for the Knights up on the Gold Coast while Melbourne pipped the Dragons at the post.
