Eels forward Kenny Edwards.

Parramatta Eels back-rower Kenny Edwards is due in court on Tuesday over a traffic incident last week.

The 28-year-old is listed to appear in the Fairfield District Court, but the club was only made aware of the necessity to attend last Friday.

The Eels lost their round nine match 20-12 to the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium that night.

It is understood the issue is over Edwards's driver's licence.

A statement by Parramatta on Sunday said the NRL Integrity Unit had been made aware of the incident.

The Eels will conduct their own review and Edwards could face internal sanctions.

"The club will make no further comment until after Tuesday's court appearance and once our club's internal investigation regarding the circumstances of the incident is completed," the Eels statement said.

Edwards has played 70 games for the Eels, including eight off the bench in the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership season where he's scored a try, made 22 tackle breaks and 14 off-loads.
