With State of Origin only weeks away, Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika's monster VB Hard Earned effort against the Bulldogs on Saturday couldn't have been more timely.
Fotuaika made his Queensland debut last year and is in the frame to represent his state again in the series-opening game on June 9.
The 21-year-old will prove a handful for NSW to contain if he can replicate his round 11 performance in which he topped the VB Hard Earned index with a score of 94 to help inspire a 30-20 win.
As per stats supplied by VB, Fotuaika tallied 15 runs - 11 of those for a gain of eight or more metres - for 175m overall as well as nine tackle busts, two offloads and 32 tackles (two missed) in 60 minutes.
Those numbers resulted in him pipping Warriors middle forward Tohu Harris, who scored 91 in a victory over the Wests Tigers.
While Fotuaika exceeded the baseline of hard work - the average index score for a starting front-rower is 57.6 - Sea Eagles star Tom Trbojevic also flew above the norm for his position.
The average score for a fullback is 46.7, but the red-hot Trbojevic posted 82 to make him the highest-ranking back last round.
Trbojevic had 24 carries, 18 of those being for more than eight metres. He also broke nine tackles and engaged the line 11 times as he scored a try and set up two more in a 28-6 win over the Eels.
Another classy custodian - Melbourne's Nicho Hynes, who replaced the injured Ryan Papenhuyzen - can lay claim to being one of the most elusive players as he busted a round-high 12 tackles against Canberra.
Elsewhere, Broncos enforcer Matt Lodge produced arguably his best match of the season by scoring 84 in an upset of the Roosters.
On the overall leaderboard, reliable Panthers bookend James Fisher-Harris remains on track for his second VB Hard Earned title with Eels second-rower Isaiah Papali'i on his heels in second spot.
