Warriors enforcer James Gavet has come out swinging at the timing of next month's Denver Test with his side set to be one of the worst affected.
The last Kiwis side that took the field at the World Cup at the end of 2017 featured four players in the Warriors' starting 17.
Add to that the likely inclusions of rejuvenated hooker Issac Luke, second-rower Tohu Harris and in-form winger David Fusitua, and the Warriors look set to be without more than half of their starting squad for their round-16 clash against Cronulla.
Coach Stephen Kearney said given the tight turnaround, none of the players involved in the Denver Test would be selected for that game.
Gavet said the timing of the match was frustrating and threatened to derail the Warriors' hot start to the season.
"With how we have been going you would expect a fair chunk of our squad would be in line for a call-up. I think that could really hinder our season," he said.

"Whether we win against the Sharks or not is not the point, something like that has the potential to really upset the flow we have going at the moment so from that perspective, the timing is frustrating.
"I think it's great to try and grow our game overseas but mid-season is a bit much."
Gavet, who has played one Test for Samoa in 2016, also felt taking the game overseas cheapened the jersey, saying some players might see it as more of a fun excursion rather than a meaningful Test.
"It's more of a showcase game for people in the USA. Over there they think we are mad men.
"It's a cool chance to go sight-see a bit, maybe get a match payment out of it. But I felt it's not as much about representing the fern and our country given that's it's just a one-off game in a foreign land - you may as well play it in the middle east - they're going to think it's the All Blacks coming to town or something."

Though Gavet would be an outside chance of being selected by new coach Michael Maguire, incumbent captain Adam Blair is a certainty.
"I haven't spoken to Stephen yet. Like I have said all along however, I'm confident if selected I would put my hand up for my country," he said.
"Whether I am allowed to go from this end (the Warriors) is another question I need to sort out before it all goes ahead."
