Rockhampton-born Bree Spreadborough took an unconventional path to rugby league, spending much of her youth focused on horse riding and barely playing any ball sports until the age of 18.
Her introduction to the game came at university, when her brother encouraged her to take part in a rugby league nines competition and it was there that Spreadborough fell in love with the sport.
The outside back made her NRLW debut for the Broncos in Round 1, 2024, before showcasing her versatility by transitioning from the wing to a starting lock role in her second season.
Spreadborough enjoyed a strong start to the 2025 campaign, averaging almost 120 run metres per game and regularly featuring among the team’s top tacklers with an average of 37 tackles per match.
A fractured leg in Round 5 ruled her out for the remainder of the season, but her resilience and work ethic were recognised with a contract extension through to the end of the 2027 season
