Gamuda Scholarship

Gamuda's partnership with the NRL School to Work Program reflects an investment in three pivotal areas aimed to ensure more Indigenous youth successfully transition into further education, training, and meaningful employment.

As part of this partnership, the company is providing construction scholarships, a new initiative that encompasses:

  • 15 x $1000 scholarships: Dedicated to S2W participants embarking on construction apprenticeships, these scholarships signify Gamuda's commitment to fostering talent in the construction sector.
  • 2 x $5000 scholarships: Tailored for university students pursuing relevant tertiary pathways, these scholarships come with the added advantage of a paid internship at Gamuda, underscoring the company's dedication to supporting academic excellence and practical experience.

These scholarships play a crucial role in alleviating initial financial barriers associated with educational and vocational pursuits, covering expenses such as tuition fees, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, and transportation.

Gamuda have also invested in a bespoke industry engagement strategy that will provide them with unique opportunities to promote their organisation, provide industry insight and exposure, connect with, and inspire S2W participants, and provide Gamuda priority access to S2W graduating students.

"Community means a lot to Gamuda, in terms of the legacy that we leave. The involvement with our Aboriginal community and the lands in which we’re building on is important to us. We felt like this was an important journey for us to be on with the NRL," said Sianne Bennett, Gamuda Head of Human Resources.

"This will be a great partnership for the S2W program, and we want to celebrate this milestone. We couldn’t have picked a better ally or a partner to come aboard. The opportunity that Gamuda will provide will benefit the students and their support networks and we cannot thank Gamuda enough for that opportunity," said Jason Solomon, NRL School to Work Operations Manager.

Furthermore, Gamuda has pledged support for key national events, including the S2W Awards Night, S2W Golf Day, and Youth Summit.

This commitment underscores Gamuda's dedication to fostering a positive and supportive environment for Indigenous youth, aligning with the broader goals of the NRL School to Work Program.
