- Biography:
A highly regarded junior, Fonua was a Parramatta Eels product who played in the Holden Cup and earned selection in the New South Wales Under-18s side in 2017. Despite his early promise, he stepped away from rugby league in 2020 before returning five years later through the Panthers’ pathways system.
Fonua broke into the NSW Cup side late in the 2024 season, making three appearances, one at fullback and two off the bench.
In Round 26 of the 2025 NRL season, Fonua made his first-grade debut for Penrith against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, starting at centre in a 28–4 loss at Accor Stadium.
He is currently signed with the Penrith Panthers until the end of the 2027 season.
