2025 NRL Signings Tracker: Garrick inks Roosters deal for 2027

The Roosters have announced the signing of Sea Eagles flyer Reuben Garrick on a three-year deal commencing in 2027.

Garrick has played 157 games and scored 1340 points for Manly since making his NRL debut in 2019.

The 28-year-old will see out the final season of his contract with the Sea Eagles before joining the Roosters for the 2027 campaign.

Former Knight Jack Hetherington is set to fill the void left by the injured Eli Katoa after signing a one-year deal with the Storm.

Katoa is set to sit out the 2026 season after suffering an injury during the Pacific Championships, with Hetherington providing physicality and experience up front.

The contract is one of three the Storm have announced, with Trent Toelau and Manaia Waitere also signing with Melbourne.

Toelau has signed a one-year deal, while Waitere moves to Melbourne from the Raiders on a two-year contract.

Toelau started his career in the Storm pathway before moving to Penrith and making his NRL debut in 2024. An emerging playmaker, the 26-year-old is set to learn from Jahrome Hughes and Cam Munster.

"Jack, Trent and Manaia each bring their own strengths to our group, and we’re excited for what they can offer both in the short-term and into next season," Storm football boss Frank Ponissi said.

"Jack provides proven NRL experience, while Trent and Manaia are young players with impressive talent. We believe all three will thrive in our environment, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our Storm family."

Boom halfback Coby Black has been granted an immediate release from the Broncos to join Canberra Raiders on a three-year deal.

Black, who earlier this year captained Queensland Under 19s, has been a part of the Broncos system from a young age and has been developing as a halfback under the guidance of Adam Reynolds.

He played 16 games for the Souths Logan Magpies in the 2025 Queensland Cup season where he scored six tries and produced eight try assists, nine line-break assists and 11 offloads.

Broncos coach Michael Maguire said Black will be very much missed at Red Hill.

“We would have loved to have Coby here at the Broncos for 2026, but we acknowledge the opportunity that’s been presented to him,” Maguire said.

“He’s a fantastic young man who’s been an absolute pleasure to coach and I truly hope our paths cross in the future.”

Raiders recruitment manager, Chris Hutchison, said the club is excited to welcome Black to the Raiders.

“Coby is a great young player and we’re very excited to welcome him to Canberra this season and continue his development at the Raiders," he said.

“He has shown strong ability already, progressing through the ranks to debut in Queensland Cup at the age of 18.”

North Queensland have signed veteran front-rower Matthew Lodge for the 2026 season.

The 30-year-old has appeared in 133 NRL games over the course of a 10-year career with Wests Tigers, Brisbane, the Warriors, Roosters and Sea Eagles.

Lodge adds significant depth and experience to a Cowboys forward pack, which will be without injured internationals Jeremiah Nanai and Griffin Neame to start the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, Super League stars Harry Newman and Toby Sexton have been confirmed as the first signings for Perth Bears in 2027.

The club followed up the news 24 hours later with the announcement Luke Smith and Emarly Bitungane had also signed with the club.

Newman, who has made 129 Super League appearances for Leeds since debuting in 2017, was called into the England team for the third Ashes Test against the Kangaroos at Headingley.

Sexton will return to the NRL after leaving the Bulldogs at the end of last season to join Catalans.

“This has been a tough decision for me but one I feel I needed to make at this stage of my career," Newman said in a statement issued by Leeds on Monday.

A product of the Rhinos Academy system, Newman played every match in 2025 under Brad Arthur but advised the club that next season would be his last in Leeds colours for the foreseeable future.

The 25-year-old is expected to travel to Australia with the England squad for IRL Rugby League World Cup 2026 at the end of next season and will stay on to join the Bears.

“Having spoken to Harry and his agent earlier this year, they stated to me that they were looking at Harry's options in the NRL for 2027 and beyond," Leeds Rhinos Sporting Director Ian Blease said.

"As a club, we have a proud record of developing our young talent and giving them the opportunity to play at the highest level, as Harry did this year with England."

Smith captained the Bulldogs Jersey Flegg team in 2024 before making his NRL debut this season, while Bitungane made his NRL debut for the Cowboys in 2025.

Both players will spend 2026 with the London Broncos before returning to Australia to join the Bears on two-year deals.

The Panthers have confirmed the signing of hooker Freddy Lussick on a one-year deal for the 2026 season.

Since debuting in 2020, Lussick has made 53 NRL appearances across stints with the Roosters, Dragons and Warriors.

The 25-year-old played a key role in the Warriors’ 2025 NSW Cup and NRL State Championship triumphs.

Meanwhile, the Roosters have locked down Dally M Rookie of the Year Rob Toia on a long-term contract after a breakout season.

Already signed through to 2027, the centre has penned a two-year extension that will see him remain at the club until the end of 2029.

Toia made his NRL debut in Round 1 before earning a shock call up for the Maroons for the State of Origin series after just 10 games. He finished the year with an appearance for Tonga and shapes as a key figure for all three sides moving forward.

"What sets Robert apart isn’t just his talent, it’s his character. He worked through some tough early challenges with real resilience and determination," Roosters recruitment chief Joel Carbone said.

"With the work ethic he brings, there’s no capping the ceiling for where he can take his game, and we’re very pleased to have him locked in long-term."

Livewire fullback Jye Gray has signed a three-year extension with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The youngster rejected interest from rival codes to ink a deal that keeps him at Heffron through to the end of the 2029 season.

The former Queensland Under 19 representative made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs in 2024 and became a mainstay in the side throughout the past two years.

"Jye was the best player in the NRL competition for the first half of last season and his performances all year for us were outstanding," South Sydney recruitment boss Mark Ellison said.

"His performances were so good that he attracted interest in his services elsewhere, however, he sees his future is at the South Sydney Rabbitohs, and that is something very exciting for everyone associated with the club.

"He is safe under the high ball, he returns the ball with great speed, his footwork is mesmerising, and his defence is inspiring.

"He is a great character around the team, he is a player that his teammates love to play with, and his coaches love to coach."

Manly have announced that hooker Jake Simpkin has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2028 season.

Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold says the new deal rewards Simpkin’s professionalism and consistency.

“Jake has thoroughly earned this contract extension after his most consistent season yet,” Seibold said.

Further north, the Titans have signed outside back Max Feagai from the Dolphins for the next two seasons.

Feagai made his NRL debut with the Dragons in 2020 and chalked up 23 games at the Red V before heading to the Dolphins in 2024.

"We’re really excited to welcome Max to the Titans. He brings plenty of energy and adds good depth to complement our outside backs stocks," said Titans coach Josh Hannay.

"He has shown great potential early in his career with schoolboy honours and given his youth, his best football is still ahead of him."

Gold Coast Titans have also announced a five-year contract extension  for Jayden Campbell, with the versatile star to stay a Titan until the end of the 2031 season.

Son of Preston Campbell and a fan favourite since his debut in 2021, Campbell has transitioned from fullback to the halves over the past two seasons.

Now 78 games into his career as he begins his sixth season in the NRL, the 25-year-old was one of Gold Coast’s best last season which led to representative honours with the Prime Minister’s XIII, as well as being invited to train with the Queensland Maroons.

Knocking back interest from rival clubs to further extend his time on the Gold Coast, his decision reinforces his confidence and desire in continuing to build on his family legacy with full belief in the future of the Titans.

"Staying close to my family and friends and getting to play for my hometown is another big reason why I wanted to extend my time here on the Gold Coast, and I’m really excited about what we’re building under Josh," Campbell said.

The Titans have also extended and upgraded prop Brock Gray on a two-year deal that sees him added to the top-30 squad.

The Dolphins have announced their Development List for 2026, with Zac Garton, Charlie Dickson, Lewis Symonds, John Fineanganofo and Patrick Kailahi to take the next step towards a Top-30 spot next season.

In further extensions elsewhere, champion hooker Harry Grant has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain with the Storm until at least the end of the 2028 season while Roosters skipper James Tedesco and Eels flyer Josh Addo-Carr have signed on until the end of 2027.

Already contracted for 2026, Grant has signed a new deal that will carry him into a 10th season with the Storm.

Appointed captain in 2024, the 27-year-old has since guided the Storm to consecutive grand final appearances. He also captained the Australian Kangaroos in the second Ashes Test in England.

“It’s a great feeling to have my future confirmed until 2028. I feel incredibly privileged to captain this club and wear the purple jersey in front of our members and fans every week,” Grant said.

"This club has always been built on great people, and being at Storm, surrounded by them, brings out the best in me, both on and off the field."

One of the game's most respected leaders, Tedesco is third on the Roosters' list of all-time captains with 117 games (behind Jake Friend on 121 and Brad Fittler 199).

“I’ve been fortunate to coach some outstanding players, and James stands right alongside the very best. He’s been central to our club’s identity for almost a decade, and his drive to keep evolving makes him such a special leader and person,” said Roosters coach Trent Robinson.

“Ted embodies what it means to be a Rooster. He leads through his actions, demands excellence of himself and those around him, and is always looking for ways to get better, so it’s great that we’ll continue to benefit from his experience and example."

Addo-Carr has agreed to a one-year contract extension and said he was thrilled to continue his journey with the Eels.

“I absolutely love this club. Everyone here from the coaches to the players, management and admin staff, and of course our incredible fans have made Parramatta feel like home from the moment I arrived," Addo-Carr said.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast Titans forward Beau Fermor has signed a three-year contract extension beyond his current deal to remain a Titan long-term.

Fermor will keep wearing the Titans jersey until at least the end of 2029.

Elsewhere, star winger Zac Lomax has played his last game for the Eels after being granted an immediate release from the club.

The 26-year-old joined Parramatta at the start of the 2025 campaign on a four-year deal, however he will depart after playing just one season.

"The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Zac Lomax has been granted an immediate release from his playing contract to pursue opportunities outside the NRL," the statement said.

The Sea Eagles, meanwhile, have locked in a one-year contract extension for experienced prop Siosiua Taukeiaho.

This deal will see Taukeiaho enter a second season at Manly, and 10th full season in the NRL, 13 years after making his debut with the Warriors.

Boom halfback Coby Black will depart the Broncos at the conclusion of the 2026 season to join a rival NRL club.

The Broncos, who have signed Jonah Pezet from the Storm, via a season with Parramatta, announced Black's exit.

“Coby has come through our Academy program from the age of 14 and has worked really hard to progress through to our NRL top squad," said Broncos general manager of recruitment and pathways Simon Scanlan.

“While we’re sad to see him leave, we thank him for his dedication and commitment and sincerely wish him every success as he takes the next step in his career.”

Meanwhile, Zach Dockar-Clay will return to the Sea Eagles after two years with Sydney Roosters with the experience of being a member of the Kiwis squad which won the Pacific Championships.

Dockar-Clay has made 36 appearances in the NRL since debuting for Manly as a 27-year-old with the Bulldogs in 2022.

The Cowboys have signed utility James Walsh to a three-year deal through the end of the 2028 season.

Walsh will join the Cowboys immediately after securing a release from the final year of his contract with the Dolphins.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in the Queensland Cup in 2025, scoring eight tries and breaking 52 tackles in 16 games playing for both Redcliffe and the CQ Capras.

“James is a fantastic young player who can play centre and back row, which is valuable in today’s game,” said Cowboys recruitment and list manager Clint Zammit.

“He is an aggressive ball-runner and natural competitor, who played in successful junior teams in NSW and progressed to play Queensland Cup at 18 for the Dolphins."

Meanwhile, the Raiders have confirmed the signing of Daine Laurie on a three-year deal from the commencement of the 2026 season.

Laurie will join the Raiders until the end of 2028, after playing 76 first grade games for both Penrith and the Wests Tigers.

Elsewhere, the Bulldogs have signed experienced playmaker Sean O'Sullivan to a one-year deal for 2026 while Fletcher Baker and Gordon Chan Kum Tong join the club on development deals.

The Sydney Roosters have confirmed the signing of former Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans for the 2026 NRL season.

A veteran of 352 NRL games, Cherry-Evans debuted in 2011 and played 15 seasons at the Sea Eagles. He announced in March he would be leaving the club where he won a premiership in his first season in 2011.

Cherry-Evans declined a two-year contract offer from Manly in March but saw out the season at Brookvale and played 23 of the club's 24 matches.

“Daly’s experience and understanding of the game will be a strong addition to our group and we’re excited to welcome him to the Roosters. I’m looking forward to working with him,” said Roosters coach Trent Robinson.

Also at the Roosters, 20-year-old Indigenous All Star Blake Steep has signed a two-year extension that takes him through to the end of the 2028 campaign.

Steep made his NRL debut in 2024 before featuring in 22 games this season as the Roosters doubled down on a talented crop of young stars.

"Blake has been a terrific addition to our NRL squad and he’s a great example of the pathways we’ve built through the Roosters Academy," Roosters recruitment boss Joel Carbone said.

"He’s a player who works hard for every opportunity, and his growth over the past couple of seasons is a credit to his approach and consistency. We’re really pleased to see him continue his journey with us and believe he’ll play an important role in the years ahead."

Steep's new deal comes days after the Roosters announced Cody Ramsey had signed a two-year deal with the club.

The contract will see the 25-year-old join Trent Robinson's side for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Ramsey left the Dragons at the end of the 2025 campaign after completing a remarkable comeback from ulcerative colitis and leading the club's NSW Cup side to the grand final. St George Illawarra offered a train and trial deal for next year, however the Roosters offered a place in the top-30 squad.

"Cody is a competitor who brings energy, toughness and genuine strike," Roosters recruitment boss Joel Carbone said. "It says a lot about his character that he’s overcome the challenges of the last couple of years.

"He adds terrific depth to our outside backs, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Roosters."

The Wests Tigers have signed promising fullback Jack Attard, landing the talented teenager on a three-year deal.

Attard moves across from the Penrith pathway and will join the Tigers on a train and trial deal in 2026 before moving to the Development List in 2027 and then a promotion to the Top 30 in 2028.

"Very excited to be joining the Wests Tigers and ripping in with the boys to kick off pre-season," Attard said.

"After speaking with Benji and seeing what’s been happening around the club, I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and being part of this group.

"There’s a lot of great players and coaches here at the Tigers and I’m keen to learn as much as I can and continue to improve my game."

Playmaker Lachlan Ilias will call the Gold Coast home for the next two seasons after joining the Titans for the 2026 and '27 seasons.

Ilias, 25, joins the Titans with 60 NRL appearances to his name, including stints with the Rabbitohs (2021–2024) and Dragons (2025).

He was granted a release by the Dragons from the final year of his deal.

"Lachlan is a smart, composed halfback who’s shown he can perform at the top level,” said Titans coach Josh Hannay.

“He’s got a strong kicking game, good defensive instincts, and he’ll add real depth and competition to our halves.

“We’re building a squad for 2026 that are hungry and Lachlan fits that mould perfectly."

The signing of Ilias came on the back of the recruitment of hooker Luke Sommerton from the Panthers on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old has made 12 NRL appearances for the Panthers since debuting late in the 2023 season.

“We know Luke is a talented young hooker who’s come through a strong system at Penrith and shown he can compete at NRL level, but it is also about Luke's standards that he sets within the playing group,” said Hannay.

“He brings energy, and a real hunger to improve, and we’re excited to see him grow in our environment over the next two seasons.”

The Titans have also announced Queensland Cup Player of the Year Oliver Pascoe has signed a two-year deal with the club.

The Ipswich Jets hooker will be a member of the Titans development list for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Joining Pascoe on development deals are Siale Faeamani and Jett Liu. Faeamani arrives from Penrith and has signed for the next two years.

Liu was a key member of the Dragons' run to the NSW Cup decider and will be on a development contract in 2026 before stepping into the top 30 squad in 2027.

The Titans have added further depth to their squad, signing Queensland Cup star Adam Christensen and former Raider Jensen Taumoepeau to two-year deals.

The pair are locked in to the end of the 2027 campaign and are also members of the club's development list.

The Panthers have promoted emerging youngster Jaxen Edgar to the top 30, with fullback signing a contract extension through to the end of 2028.

Edgar made his NRL debut in Round 26 after starting the clash as 18th man and shapes as Dylan Edwards future replacement.

"He is an exceptional young talent with a strong work ethic and a great attitude towards his development," Panthers GM of football Shane Elford said.

"He’s shown tremendous growth, and we believe he has a very bright future in the game."

Promising back-rower Hamish Stewart has signed a contract extension with the Dragons through to the end of the 2029 season.

The 21-year-old debuted in Round 1 against Canterbury and went on to appear in 19 games as he took home the club’s NRL Emerging Talent Award.

The Dragons will also bid farewell to experienced prop David Klemmer, who has signed a two-year deal with Super League club St Helens.

Star fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen has played his last game for the Melbourne Storm after he was granted an immediate release from the club.

The 27-year-old had a year to run on his contract, but is now a free agent as he weighs up his options for the future.

Papenhuyzen emerged as a star throughout Melbourne's charge to the 2020 premiership, however injuries have hampered his ability to stay on the field.

The fullback enjoyed a better run of health in 2025 and played a key role in the Storm's run to the grand final.

"I’ve loved my time at Melbourne Storm," Papenhuyzen said in a statement. "I’ve enjoyed close to a decade of incredible memories and experiences in the purple jersey. Playing in front of the Storm fans every week has made my time in Melbourne something I’ll never forget.

"I want to thank the club for their understanding and support throughout this process. I also want to thank my teammates, coaches and staff for all their love and support, it’s been a privilege playing footy and working with you."

Emerging playmaker Jonah Pezet has locked in a unique agreement that will see him shift from Melbourne to Parramatta and eventually Brisbane throughout the next couple of years.

The promising halfback will join the Eels on a one-year deal for the 2026 season before shifting to Brisbane in 2027.

The three-year contract with the Broncos will see Pezet remain with the current premiers through to the end of the 2029 season and positions him as the likely replacement for veteran halfback Adam Reynolds.

Pezet made his NRL debut in 2023 and has played 18 games for the Storm while acting as Jahrome Hughes' understudy. Now, he gets the chance to step into a primary playmaker role, first in Parramatta and then Brisbane.

Cowboys forward Griffin Neame has inked a three-year contract extension through to the end of the 2029 season.

Neame, 24, made his NRL debut as a 20-year-old in Round 22 of the 2021 season alongside Jeremiah Nanai.

He has gone on to appear in 89 games for the Cowboys, including finals campaigns in 2022 and 2024. He solidified his spot as a starting front-rower late in 2025 and is poised to take a major role in the middle rotation next season following the retirement of Jordan McLean.

The Panthers have signed Tom Ale and Kalani Going on one-year deals for the 2026 season.

Both forwards join the club’s Top 30 squad after playing key roles in the Warriors’ NSW Cup premiership and NRL State Championship-winning campaigns in 2025.

The Rabbitohs have signed barnstorming back-rower David Fifita on a two-year deal after he was granted a release by the Titans.

Fifita debuted as an 18-year-old in 2018 with the Broncos and played 44 games at Red Hill before moving to the Gold Coast in 2021, where he has racked up 90 more games.

A recurring ankle injury restricted him to just eight games in 2025 but at 25 years of age the eight-time Maroons Origin representative has plenty still to offer.

South Sydney have also signed emerging forward Thomas Fletcher to a two-year extension for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The 21-year-old made his debut in Round 22 and has been backed to develop into a key member of the Rabbitohs pack.

Meanwhile, Manly star Tom Trbojevic has put an end to months of speculation by agreeing to a one-year contract extension with the Sea Eagles.

Initially signed to the end of the 2026 season, the fullback will remain on the Northern Beaches for at least another 12 months on a deal that takes him through to the end of 2027.

The contract provides stability for the Sea Eagles while also preventing rival clubs from attempting to pry the Manly product away from his junior club.

"I'm so pleased to be staying at Manly for at least another two seasons," Trbojevic said.

"This club is such a big part of my life and always will be. I want to be the best I can be next season, and that will be my focus over the next few months in pre-season.

"I think the future looks bright here at Manly and it’s great to have my new contract put to bed."

The Knights have further strengthened their playmaking stocks with the signing of Sandon Smith from the Roosters on a four-year deal through to the end of the 2029 season.

The Warriors have locked down playmaker Luke Metcalf with a contract extension before rival clubs can come knocking on the door.

The star halfback was off-contract at the end of next year and would have been able to negotiate with teams from November 1. That is now off the table after Metcalf signed a two-year extension that secures him in Auckland through to the end of 2028.

The 26-year-old led the Dally M tally when voting went behind closed doors and had the Warriors firmly entrenched in the top four before tearing his ACL in Round 17. While he may miss the start of next season, Metcalf is looking to lead the club to a maiden premiership.

Manly have bolstered their outside back stocks, signing former Bulldog Blake Wilson to a two-year deal.

The winger will join the Sea Eagles next season on a contract that takes him through to the end of 2027.

The Rabbitohs have signed rising stars Ashton Ward and Bayleigh Bentley-Hape to new deals as they look to build momentum into the 2026 season.

Middle forward Tim Johannssen has also extended his contract for
a further season, while Australian Schoolboys representative Dayne Jennings has extended his contract for a further season in 2028 and young fullback Charlie Poynton has signed on for season 2026 on a NSWRL contract.

The Sea Eagles have bolstered their pack with the signing of premiership-winning Broncos back-rower Kobe Hetherington on a four-year deal.

The Broncos have snared talented forward Aublix Tawha from cross-town rivals the Dolphins as they look to bolster their pack for 2026.

The club have also announced the contract extension of back rower Jack Gosiewski which will see him remain at the Broncos through the 2026 season.

The Rabbitohs have announced the contract extension of half Jayden Sullivan for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Titans flyer Alofiana Khan-Pereira is on his way across the Tasman in 2026 after being granted a release from the final year of his contract to join the Warriors on a three-year deal.

The Titans have promoted young half Zane Harrison to their Top 30 squad for the next two years after an impressive first full-time NRL season.

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers have taken a big step towards bolstering their pack for 2026 by signing former Warrior Bunty Afoa.

The prop has committed to a one-year deal with the club and will provide crucial experience and physicality up front as the Tigers look to break into the top eight next season.

Tongan international Siliva Havili has become the second big name star to move from the NRL to join the London Broncos since former Kangaroos captain Darren Lockyer took over the club.

Havili will join former Kangaroos prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard in London next season.

The Sea Eagles have announced the signing of South Sydney prop, Davvy Moale on a three-year deal.

The club have announced the deal for the Cook Islands international is to commence in 2027.

Titans 2025 rookie of the year Josh Patston has extended his time on the Gold Coast until the end of 2027.

Taking up a train-and-trial deal in 2025, he debuted in Round 15 before becoming a regular in the 17 each week to finish the season with eight appearances, scoring his maiden try against the Sharks.

From a train and trial contract in Round 15 to an NRL debut in Round 18 and a classic qualifying final against the Raiders, the 2025 season has been a whirlwind for Broncos forward Ben Talty.

The club have also re-signed second rower Jaiyden Hunt on a one-year extension through to the end of the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, veteran prop Josh Papalii has officially re-signed with the Raiders for the 2026 season.

It caps off a huge year for Papalii who became the club's most-capped player when he played his 319th NRL match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in June. He also received a recall to the Queensland Origin team for the decider, where he helped the Maroons to a series win.

Wests Tigers have announced the re-signing of centre Taylan May on a new two-year deal.

May, who joined the club in June on a train-and-trial deal, will now remain a Tiger until the end of the 2027 NRL season.

The Samoan international appeared in the final seven fixtures of the Wests Tigers 2025 campaign, for a return of four tries, three try assists and six line breaks.

Elsewhere, Englishman Lewis Dodd has been released from the final two years of his contract by the Rabbitohs to join Catalans.
